71-Year-Old Acworth Man Dies from Injuries Sustained in Car Crash

ATLANTA - Sept. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- ACWORTH, Ga. – A 71-year-old Acworth resident has died this month after succumbing to his injuries sustained in a car wreck.

J.D., 71, was involved in a collision on Lake Acworth Drive near North Main Street, according to police.

The incident occurred when M.W., 30, of Dallas was approaching North Main Street in a red 2013 Dodge Ram, travelling eastbound in the left lane of Acworth Drive.

According to the police report, when M.W. was nearing North Main Street in the Dodge Ram, he attempted to maneuver into the right lane but struck a blue 2010 Mazda driven by C.W., 54, of Marietta.

The Marietta man escaped injury.

After colliding with the Mazda on his right, M.W. steered to the left and collided into the front-end of a Nissan that was travelling in the opposite direction, heading westbound.

M.W., the driver of the Dodge was not injured, but his 22-year-old passenger in the Dodge was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 71-year-old driver of the Nissan was transported to Kennestone Hospital, located in Marietta, where he later passed away as a result of the injuries sustained in the collision.
