Sept. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Home Depot Inc. is working with banks and law enforcement agencies to investigate a potential data breach.


The chain said it is investigating an “unusual activity” on credit cards and if it is confirmed that a violation has occurred, they will ensure that “customers are notified immediately.”

Home Depot also stated that customers “won’t be responsible for any possible fraudulent charges on their credit or debit cards.

The statement was later reported that the Internet security site KrebsOnSecurity initially reported that many banks had seen evidence that Home Depot could be the source of stolen credit cards and debit cards that were offered for sale on the black market.


According to the security firm, managers may be the same group of Russian and Ukrainian hackers who are suspected of a massive data theft against Target chain.
