Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce 100th Anniversary Year Success Due To Business Support

Business and Consumer gatherings of many kinds happened throughout the LBI Region, and as 2014 comes to a close a reflection on a celebration of a century of service, and the outpouring of local business involvement that made it happen

SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - Sept. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- From Old Time Luncheon kicking off a full year of 100 Anniversary business tributes last November, Spotlight Salutes highlighting key business districts Barnegat, Tuckerton, Lacey, Stafford, leading the Centennial Causeway Parade on Long Beach Island, establishing the Regional Business Development Council and 2020 Vision plan, receiving global accreditation,  hosting the New Jersey Hall of Fame at Centennial Family Expo, holding a 100th Anniversary Gala at Long Beach Island Foundation, publishing Centennial Summer Escape Guide, running weekly Coffee with the Chamber Wednesday drop ins to teaching a class at Richard Stockton College on 100 Years of Doing Business, launching a new website, granting thousands of dollars to local projects;  the Southern Ocean County Chamber members have made their mark on 2014.

“It was the membership that made this a remarkable year” states DMO & Communication Director Lori Pepenella “Support, growth in members and extraordinary turnout for events have made this the true community celebration it was meant to be.” The 100th Anniversary Events Committee and the Southern Ocean County Chamber staff Michele Cuff, Kelly Randazzo, Cindy Galvin, Linda Wood and Pepenella had pulled out the archives and shared the story of local business, economic trial and triumphs since the organization was founded on Chestnut Street in Philadelphia to its modern day goals.

100 years of the organization has been documented by Ocean County Culture and Heritage who has digitized the archives. The 100th Anniversary Gala was creatively captured by member E VIDEO Productions LLC, a local videography company which recently won two Bronze Telly Awards. Kristopher King, partner and producer included clips of the May 15 event of honorees In Memory of Capt John Larson for Community TrailBlazer , Lew Richards of Crust & Crumb Bakery for Outstanding Stewardship, Jillian and Todd Elsasser Panzone’s Pizza & Pasta for Next Wave Award, Southern Ocean Medical Center Community Foundation for Heart of the Community Award, Tuckerton Seaport for Dedication to Tourism and Timothy Kohlheim for Entrepreneur 2014.
