Whitewater rafting down the Gauley River is an incredible way to experience the amazing scenery of fall in West Virginia. The Upper Gauley is known as one of the most intense courses and one of the best white water rafting experiences in the world. This special is a fantastic opportunity to experience the rush of the Gauley River, while also bringing someone else into the fun! The Gauley River features whitewater rafting trips in the summer and fall, allowing for lower, upper, and double upper river rafting. Gauley Savings days are a great chance to experience both nature and thrills at an exceptional value.

White water rafting consists of navigating a portion of river on an inflatable raft. Trips usually last about 5-7 hours, including a waterside lunch. No experience is necessary on the milder sections of the river and being able to swim is not necessary, but is helpful. Each guest receives all the necessary safety equipment: a Coast Guard approved Type V Life Jacket, Paddle and Helmet.

River Expeditions features many different onsite lodging options with a choice for every taste and style. If “glamping” (glamorous camping) is more your style, then be sure to try the one of the new, “Luxury Cabins” that feature a full kitchen, two full bathrooms, a hot tub, wi-fi, gas grill, and other amenities. Guests also have the option of staying in a Bunkhouse, Leisure Cabin, or Deluxe Cabin, some of which can accommodate up to 11 guests (and sometimes pets!).
