CLEVELAND - Sept. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Star USA Inc and Secure Global Trade are proud to announce the release of our State-of-the-Art C-TPAT assessment software. The C-TPAT partnership is a voluntary initiative to increase supply chain security. Working together, U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) and C-TPAT partners cooperatively reduce the likelihood and severity of terrorist activity.

C-TPAT has evolved into a growing multinational effort involving CBP, importers, carriers, foreign manufacturers, brokers, consolidators / 3PLs, and MPTOs. Mutual recognition arrangements are in place with New Zealand, Canada, Jordan, Japan, Korea, European Union, and Taiwan and include programs like PIP, AEO, and more.

C-TPAT is not an enforcement arm of the U.S. Government. Participating members are certified after an application and review process, and must undergo annual upkeep to remain in good standing. Members who do not continuously meet the requirements are suspended and potentially removed from the partnership.

Some of the requirements of C-TPAT are the members regularly conduct vulnerability assessments of business partners, map cargo flow and conduct threat assessments. Decreasing the time of this analysis gives companies a chance to proactively arrange their applications, as well as maintain compliance with the program. The SGT (http://secureglobaltrade.com/) software also provides the ability to electronically distribute assessments, collect results, identify gaps, standardize reporting, and organize all supplier data required for C-TPAT certification into one central application.

Direct benefits of the C-TPAT program include:

-Business resumption priority following a disruption
-Shorter wait time at borders
-Reduced exams
-Access to FAST lanes at land borders
-Mutual recognition benefits
-Eligibility to participate in ISA
-Priority consideration at CEE
