DALLAS - Sept. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- DALLAS – Shermco Industries announced today that it has achieved another quality milestone by becoming one of the first motor repair and remanufacturing centers in North America to be fully accredited by the Electrical Apparatus Service Association under its new EASA Accreditation Program.  The initiative is designed to assure compliance with prescribed best business and technical practices, including both electrical and mechanical repairs and manufacturing processes.

“This achievement by Shermco Industries affirms the company’s commitment to excellence,” said Linda J. Raynes, CAE, EASA president & CEO. “EASA’s Accreditation Program, just launched this summer, offers external validation that the company adheres to good practices by submitting to an independent, third-party audit.”

The criteria for becoming EASA Accredited are based on ANSI/EASA AR100-2010: Recommended Practice for the Repair of Rotating Electrical Apparatus and The Good Practice Guide of The Effect of Repair/Rewinding on Motor Efficiency. Shermco’s third-party audit was performed by Advanced Energy of Raleigh, North Carolina, the only NIST accredited motor test lab in North America.

In addition to its new EASA Accreditation, Shermco has ongoing ISO9001-2008 recognition for process excellence and is accredited through the Proven Efficiency Verification certification program that assures machine reliability and compliance with original designed efficiency standards for remanufactured motors and generators.

“We feel the EASA Accreditation in addition to our ongoing ISO9001-2008 commitment places Shermco in the forefront of remanufacturing technology and quality, giving our key commercial, industrial, wind energy and utility customers throughout the Southwest and Midwest US the high level of confidence they deserve,” said Ron Widup, CEO of Shermco Industries.
