Orlando Shakespeare Theater Earns Second Consecutive 4-Star Rating from Charity Navigator

Theater awarded highest rating in fiscal responsibility from America’s most popular charity evaluator

ORLANDO, Fla. - Sept. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF is proud to announce its second consecutive 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest and most-utilized independent evaluator of charities. This achievement makes Orlando Shakes the only professional, non-profit theater in Florida to receive such esteemed recognition, and places it among just 19% of rated charities to achieve two consecutive 4 out of 4 star evaluations.

The Charity Navigator score is calculated by evaluating a charity’s financial health, fiscal management, and commitment to accountability and transparency. Based on Charity Navigator’s core criteria, Orlando Shakes received high marks in multiple categories. With an overall score of 92.16%, the Theater exceeded ratings of other prestigious institutions including The Public Theater/New York Shakespeare Festival, Goodman Theatre, and Berkeley Repertory Theatre.

“It is an honor to receive Charity Navigator’s highest rating two years in a row,” said Managing Director PJ Albert. "The staff and Board of Directors at Orlando Shakespeare Theater strive to maintain sound fiscal stability while continuing to offer the highest level of artistic quality to our patrons.”

Charity Navigator assists charitable givers in making intelligent donations by providing them with information on more than five thousand charities across the nation. It then assigns a rating from one to four, with four being the highest rating. Charity Navigator’s approach is driven by two objectives: helping interested donors and celebrating the work of efficient, ethical, and open charities. Last year alone, Charity Navigator influenced an estimated $10 billion in charitable gifts. For more information visit www.charitynavigator.or (http://www.charitynavigator.org/)g.
