How soon is WWIII and a nuclear world war?

BROOKINGS, Ore. - Sept. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- A nuclear bomb can be used to blast surface structures or used as an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack to destroy electronics and electrical grids. An EMP attack represents one of the greatest threats to the United States and the world. An EMP occurs when a nuclear device is detonated 40 to 400 miles above the earth and designed to destroy electronic equipment.

A worldwide nuclear war would not only destroy hundreds of millions of people, effect electrical grids, and the environment, it would place in jeopardy many of the world’s 450 nuclear reactors. The world’s nuclear power plants are critically dependent upon connection to a functioning electrical grid in order to keep their reactor cores continuously cooled so as to avoid catastrophic reactor core meltdowns and spent fuel rod storage pond fires. Most nuclear plants only have one week’s supply of backup generator fuel. With loss of electrical grids and damage to electronic control devices in the refinery and transportation infrastructures, keeping nuclear power plants cool will be challenging.

Prior to the advent of the microchip and modern extra-high-voltage (EHV) transformers, most electrical systems were relatively robust. However, modern EHV transformers are vulnerable to EMP attack. Modern EHV transformers are custom designed and weigh as much as 300 tons each and are primarily made in China, South Korea and Germany. The total global manufacturing capacity is roughly 100 EHV transformers per year with a one to three year backlog.

A “successful” EMP attack launched against the US from one nuclear device would most likely result in the immediate collapse of the grid across roughly 50% of the country, and crash the stock and financial markets in New York. Destruction of supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA) would effect the running of refineries, power plants, nuclear reactors, sewage plants, trains and oil and gas pipelines.

Prophecy experts such as Louis Bauman (1942) and Chuck Missler (1995) have for years known that eventually Russia, Iran and other allies will invade the Middle East (Ezekiel 38) and the United States and Russia will enter WWIII with a nuclear Armageddon.

The U.S. and Russia have already fought a string of proxy wars from Vietnam to Afghanistan. Russia helped the North Vietnamese beat the U.S. in Southeast Asia, and the U.S. helped the Mujahideen defeat the Soviets in Afghanistan. Currently Russia and China are assisting North Korea, Syria, and Iran, while the U.S. is arming Israel.

Currently the U.S. has approximately 448 active intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) and 7,700 nuclear warheads. Russia has 1,800 operational warheads and China has approximately 250 nuclear warheads. Large U.S. deficits and unfunded liabilities will restrict future defense expenditures. By 2030 it is projected China will close the gap with the U.S. economically and militarily. China has a population of 1.366 billion and the U.S. has a population of 318 million.

The Congressional EMP Commission calculated that in the first year after a full-scale EMP event, we could expect about two-thirds of the national population would perish from starvation and disease, as well as anarchy in the streets.

Revelation chapter six warns that four horsemen have an appointment with destiny. A white horse is believed to represent a future world leader, the antichrist, who comes offering world peace. A red horse comes bringing war. A black horse has a rider holding balances and warning of inflation and famine. A pale horse has death and hell riding, and power is given unto the rider to kill with the sword, hunger, and pestilence one quarter of the world population.

In Matthew 24:4-10 Jesus describes this same period as a time of false messiahs, a time of world war, famines, pestilences and earthquakes.  Many believe this describes WWIII in which one quarter of the world’s population is killed when Russia invades the Middle East and results in a world wide nuclear war. With a world population of 7-8 billion people, this would mean 1.88 billion people would die from war, famine and pestilences.

Revelation chapter 9 states four fallen angels are released at the Euphrates River and lead an army of 200 million with mounted cavalry. Theologians are split as to whether this army is human or demonic. Currently China is building a vast rail network to reach as far as the Middle East to save shipping costs and to provide secure shipping lanes. By 2030 it might be possible for China to have the logistical capacity to transport a 200 million man army to invade the Middle East. At any rate the 200 million man army results in the death of one third of the world population in what may be World War IV. Between these two world wars one half of the planets population is destroyed.

We can assume that the world powers of the U.S., Russia and China must be removed, because the coming Eurabia revived-Roman Empire centered in Babylon will have unparalleled power. “And all the world marveled and followed the beast. Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:3 &4).

We know that the people of the antichrist to come are the Roman Legions who destroyed Jerusalem in 70 A.D. (Daniel 9:26). However, the majority of the Roman soldiers who destroyed Jerusalem in 70 A.D., according to an eye witness, the historian Josephus, were provincial recruits and auxiliary troops consisting of Syrians, Greeks, Egyptians and Arabs.

In Matthew 24:32-34 Jesus said he would return during the generation in which the fig tree put forth its leaves. Many theologians believe the fig tree represents Israel. It budded and put forth its leaves in 1948 when it became a nation again. Abraham was 100 when Isaac was born. If a generation is 100 years, Jesus will return in 100 years from 1948 or 2048. If the tribulation is seven years, the rapture and WWIII will occur by 2041, or within 27 years.

According to Mark Hitchcock, the Magog invasion is in the first part of the seven year tribulation, because it takes seven years to burn the weapons. (Ezekiel 38). If the seven churches in Revelation 3 & 4 are a preview of church history, the last period of Laodicea will end by approximately by 2035. Which is in 20 years. (“When is judgment day?” by Stephen Johnston). Based upon this information a civilization destroying nuclear war will occur within the next 25 years, and one half of the world’s population will be destroyed. Since nearly 25 percent of today’s population is projected to die of natural causes in the next 20 years, we can estimate three out of four people alive today will be dead by 2035.

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” ( I John 5:4-5)
