Kariba launches broadband link to cap prominent MENA oil explorer’s needs

Sept. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Basra, 29 July 2014 : Kuwait Energy Iraq Ltd’s strong crew of oil explorers in its Block 9 site outside Basra, as well its main Iraq office are now fully connected through Kariba’s customized VSAT service, resulting in operational benefits in addition to substantial savings in the cost of constant telecommunications repairs of its previous service.

Kuwait Energy Iraq Ltd required a professional communication system to be installed at its Basra office in Iraq. The system had to have the capability of providing a reliable and robust solution for its users, and to handle the load of communication between the site and other offices. It was also important that local support be provided to resolve any unforeseen issues.

Kuwait Energy Iraq Ltd was previously using a 5MB bandwidth service of another vendor but due to disruptions, was looking for a reliable service to switch to.

The solution was 3mbps downlink/1mbps uplink Dedicated KU Bandwidth unlimited usage, with the required equipment for Block 9 field for Kuwait Energy Company, with 2 public IP addresses to establish site to site VPN tunnel between the Kuwait Head Office and Basra Main Office. The guaranteed uptime is 99.97%.

The internet service for the Basra Office was 10mbps bandwidth, with required equipment, and two redundant routes to internet for more reliability to establish a site to site VPN tunnel between the Kuwait head office and Block 9.

All Fiber communication by P2P terminate at the Kariba NOC in Basra and from there to the Internet. Kuwait Energy is connected to Kariba’s NOC and helpdesk, which monitors the quality of the links on a 24/7 basis.
