Organizations using agile practices rely on high-performing teams that are empowered. This differs from the command and control management model that came out of the industrial revolution where managers told workers what to do and how to do it. Agile Teams have the autonomy to determine how to best deliver the products and services. The result is that agile teams are able to deliver the right product and services better, faster and cheaper with higher employee engagement and better alignment within the business.
Leaders in agile organizations have historically struggled to define and understand their role. The decision process regarding on how the team organizes to accomplish work is decentralized for agile teams. Gary will provide valuable information on the characteristics of successful agile leaders. The session will also cover what leaders are responsible for in agile organizations. Gary will also provide coaching techniques that leaders can use to improve agile team performance.
