Tianjin airport goes live in staged approached

Tianjin Binhai International Airport (TSN) has commenced a staged cutover of operations from T1 to T2 with China Southern Airlines flights being the first to make the transition.

TIANJIN, China - Aug. 31, 2014 - PRLog -- Tianjin Airport commenced the cutover of live operations on Thursday, 28 August with China Southern Airlines the first carrier to make the switch. Remaining carriers will transition in a staged approach.

The newly built 248,000 square meter terminal has a design capacity to handle 30-50m passengers annually and features over 350 Flight Information Display Screens.

Intersystems Rapid Suite drives the Flight Information Display System, providing passengers with real-time flight information throughout the terminal.

Simon Fu, Intersystems Operations Manager - Asia commented, "the cutover to live operations went very smoothly, we've seen no issues but will certainly continue to monitor the situation as there will be additional load as more carriers make the switch from T1 to T2."

It is anticipated that Tianjin Airport will upgrade T1 after all carriers have switched to the new T2.
