Employers are looking for employees who have skills to expand mechanization - the process of computerizing job functions. Every industry is going through this process. MIT Technology Review reports an Oxford research study that 45 percent of America’s occupations will be automated within the next 20 years. Computers will start replacing people in transportation/ Uplift, Inc. is hosting Automation Workz, a career exploration workshop that exposes 9th - 12th graders and their parents to a fully functioning automated factory and the new advanced manufacturing jobs that do not require a Bachelor’s Degree. Families will participate in a series of interactive invention/ technology/ robotic exhibits where they will generate points. The top three families to generate the most points will win prizes.
