New York, NY (August 11,2014)- Stars For Nonviolence would like to cordially invite you to be a part of the First Annual Black Tie Affair for “ A Night Under the Stars for Nonviolence” on October 19, 2014 from 4-7pm.  Location and a full list of honorees to be announced on 9/1/14.  This black tie gala will highlight and honor individuals that advocate against all forms of violence, from social media bullying to gun violence. A Night Under the Stars for Nonviolence was created as a result of the influx of violence recently in the news. There are numerous individuals fighting everyday to spread awareness and prevent others from becoming victims of violence. A Night Under the Stars for Nonviolence will recognize those who have put in time an effort to raise awareness about bullying through social media and schools, domestic violence, gun violence, sexual violence and many more. Many of these advocates have created foundations where members, who were victims of violent acts, go from place to place telling their stories.

Attending A Night Under the Stars for Nonviolence will not only be supportive to past, present and future victims, survivors, community activists, and more; but will make a statement. Specially invited guests are parents affected by violence, like Mr. Chris Foye of The Chris S. Owens Foundation, community leaders who stand against the cause, the CEOs of Stop the Bully Project the film, church leaders, and even the founders of “No Reckless Internet Posting” Campaign are invited to being honored. Various sponsors, small business, vendor and community based organizations are also showing their support at this gala.
