Gulf Coast Community Foundation Engages CGR to Create Online Community Profile

VENICE, Fla. - Aug. 29, 2014 - PRLog -- The Gulf Coast Community Foundation (Gulf Coast) has engaged CGR to develop a comprehensive online community profile that will provide residents and stakeholders with direct access to critical, detailed data and trends on the region’s socioeconomic health.

Based in Venice, Florida, Gulf Coast is a $230 million community foundation established in 1995 from the sale of The Venice Hospital. It focuses on transforming the Gulf Coast region through bold and proactive philanthropy, and last year invested $19.6 million in grants, initiatives and scholarships.

CGR’s online community profiles (also known as community indicator sites) give stakeholders and residents ready access to data, providing a common foundation to assess how well a community is doing and track progress over time. CGR’s profiles also make it possible to instantly create customized charts “on demand” using the data.

The Gulf Coast project will be modeled on a similar initiative completed by CGR in Eastern Tennessee in early 2014 (www.etindex.org).

CGR will help Gulf Coast track progress in 75 indicators of community well-being. As part of the project, CGR will also launch a community dashboard displaying data for key indicators at a glance.

The project is scheduled to be completed in early 2015.
