CARLISLE, Pa. - Aug. 29, 2014 - PRLog -- Carlisle Events is in the midst of its 40th Anniversary season and while the fun continues past the upcoming Fall Carlisle event with an event near Tampa, Florida, Fall Carlisle is the show where it all began in 1974.  Because the last Carlisle-based event is the one that put the town on the map from an automotive standpoint, it’s only fitting that the Millers (Bill and Lance/no relation) throw a party to end all parties and celebrate in a way that’s never been done before.  Fall Carlisle runs October 1-5 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds and this time around, everyone will step into the proverbial way back machine as charter vendors are recognized, classic cars are showcased and a good time is had by all!

The weekend not only hosts a swap meet, car corral and car auction backed by Carlisle Auctions, this year it will serve as the launching point for special dinner on Friday (10/3), an automotive timeline of cars from 1974-2014 throughout the weekend in Building G, which in 1974 was still a tractor dealership, and on Saturday (10/4), a special celebration with vendors, guests, ownership and the community.

Dinner wise, the invitation-only get together will commence at 6:30 p.m. at Rillo’s Restaurant in Carlisle.   Lead by co-owner and co-founder Bill Miller, Jr., approximately 65 charter vendors will be invited.  This list includes those who were with Carlisle Events in 1974 and who still vend in 2014.  Per Miller, the original vending group from 1974 filled over 600 spaces and totaled approximately 250-300 actual vendors.

Further, the vendors will once again be the spotlight attraction on Saturday evening as part of an onsite party.  There is a DJ scheduled who will spin the hits of each decade that Carlisle Events has been in operation and food will be available cook out style with hot dogs, chips, soda and cake from the Carlisle Bakery.

Last, but certainly not least, the event features the aforementioned automotive timeline showcase.  Pulling from the eight specialty shows that Carlisle Events promotes, Building G, the former Gutshall’s John Deere Dealership, will host a few dozen cars that span the 1974-2014 era.  This display is still coming together, but guests can expect cars reflective of the Carlisle Import & Kit Nationals, Carlisle Ford Nationals, Carlisle GM Nationals, Carlisle Chrysler Nationals, Carlisle Performance & Style, Carlisle Truck Nationals, Bloomsburg Nationals and Corvettes at Carlisle.

Otherwise, Fall Carlisle will continue to be the automotive Disney World that many believe it to be.  Some 100,000 guests will flock to America’s Automotive Hometown to buy, sell and trade all things automotive.  The now 8,100 spaces that make up the grounds will be filled with something for everyone, be it a collectible, new old stock item, aftermarket upgrade or original piece of automotive history.  A daily pass to Fall Carlisle is $10 ($7 on Sunday), with kids 12 and under admitted free.  Complete event details can be found at www.CarlisleEvents.com.
