Introducing SodaPop — New App Aims to Curb Bullying

Conceived as a response to tragedy, SodaPop helps those suffering in silence reach out to a trusted source for help using their smart phone.

PITTSBURGH - Aug. 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Introducing SodaPop — Social networking in a private, trusted environment you create or join.

SodaPop is a private social network — a place where members can express themselves socially while being protected from the eyes of snoops, troll, online predators and (even) potential future employers. SodaPop can be used to build private online communities for the sharing of posts, messages, photos and tags.

SodaPop networks are managed by a network Host — a single person or a group of people — and is secured by a Trust Key. Networks can be customized with custom colors, logos and invitation banners. The network Host can invite others to join the network — and in-turn (optionally) allow new network members to invite others to join.  Each invitation carries a variant of the network’s Master Trust Key, where specific limits can be placed on each invitation. For example, each student in a classroom network could be allowed to invite no more than 5 friends to join.

The Safe Zone

A SodaPop network Host can also activate SodaPop’s most unique feature — the Safe Zone — which is not enabled on new networks by default. The Safe Zone is special place members go to communicate anonymously with a Trusted Source. This encourages more meaningful conversations within specific SodaPop networks.

The network Host can assign one or more Agents to receive notifications when new Safe Zone messages arrive. A Safe Zone Dashboard enables Agents to manage, assign and respond to anonymous Safe Zone messages as a team.

Messages in the Safe Zone are sent, read and replied to in total anonymity — encouraging people to share in deeper conversations.  Because messages are sent anonymously people are more willing to share details they might be reluctant to otherwise share.  This makes SodaPop’s Safe Zone a perfect place for people who are hurting to reach out for help.

Audience

SodaPop is well suited for wide variety of groups and organizations. Current SodaPop apps work particularly well with School Districts (education), large families, school groups (drama, choir, band), youth groups, church congregations and local neighborhoods.

Pricing

SodaPop private networks are free, with optional advertising support. There is no limit to the number of networks or the number of users per network. Activating the Safe Zone requires a monthly fee for each Agent, with current introductory pricing set at $7 per month. Discounts are available for educational and non-profit organizations.

Privacy

All SodaPop networks are secured by a Trust Key. The network Host has complete control over who can access the network, posts, messages and photos.

Safe Zone

SodaPop’s unique Safe Zone is special place to communicate anonymously with a Trusted Source. Messages in the Safe Zone are sent, read and replied to in total anonymity — encouraging people to share in deeper conversations.

Rich Tool Set

SodaPop provides a rich set of social tools you use to build invitation-only, private communities. A network Host can customize icons, color schemes and invitation banners.

The Big Screen

The companion SodaPop Web App allows you to do all things social on a bigger screen. A Safe Zone Dashboard is available in the web app that enables network hosts to manage, assign and respond to anonymous Safe Zone messages as a team.

Backstory

SodaPop was originally conceived as a response to tragedy: a teen suicide in the metro-Pittsburgh area. SodaPop’s overriding goal is to help people suffering in silence reach out to a trusted source for advice — to reach out early and often.

History

SodaPop was created by AGLogic — the design and programming team behind Swackett®, Peepometer and Flashometer apps — downloaded millions of times — and at one time ranked the #1 weather app in 67 countries worldwide.

Concierge

Setting up a social network comes natural to many — but may require some planning.  Organizations that need help should take advantage of SodaPop’s free Concierge service — where Team SodaPop will prepare and setup a SodaPop network — and will provide a complementary Welcome Kit as starter network documentation (a $250 value).

Platforms

The SodaPop Web App is compatible with all modern web browsers on every computing platform.
