Eliminator 32 project completed and boat for sale

Forbes Boat Care have just completed their latest restoration project and this beautiful sail boat is now on the market!

Aug. 28, 2014 - PRLog -- "The Maggie Duff" is a sail boat familiar to many who sail around the west coast, as she had been sitting ashore by Loch Creran for the past 10 years. She was purchased as a project in November of 2013 and she has just been completed and launched.

Forbes Boat Care take on such a project now and again to train staff and fill idle time, allowing the business to keep their employees on full time through the quieter times of the year.

The boat was re-named "Anakaren". Her topsides were re-painted with jet black 2 part gloss paint which makes the hull look brand new. The bottom of the boat was stripped back and coated with Coppercoat, which means the boat will not need antifouled for up to 10 years. The decks, bilges and lockers were all re-painted. The engine was removed, checked over spray painted and, after various components were replaced, was re-fitted in the boat. The wiring was almost completely replaced, and all new electronics were fitted. The interior was almost all re-varnished. The windows were replaced and the hatches re-bedded. A new solid fuel stove was fitted and much of the plumbing was also replaced. The sprayhood and dodgers were replaced and the interior cushions are all in excellent condition.

This gave the employees, who are training towards their in-house 18 month boat babysitter course, a good thorough introduction to a major overhaul.

The boat will be kept afloat until the end of the season, and if she's not sold by then she will be kept on the market ashore in Argyll.
