Follow on Google News | Landmark Harcourts Helps To Raise Awareness of Prostate CancerLandmark Harcourts are one of the key sponsors in a 40 day fundraising trip for prostate cancer.
By: Landmark Harcourts The ManUp! tour officially launched yesterday at the Freemasons Lodge in the Brisbane CBD, with adventurers Carl Nielsen and Lang Kidby undertaking a tour of regional Queensland in their 1924 Dodge Brothers Utility and 1942 Dodge Brothers Carry All classic vintage cars. Throughout the tour, the ManUp! team along with Nielsen and Kidby will stop to host prostate cancer fundraising events and free information sessions at 39 regional Queensland locations, with the team driving over 8,100 kilometres in 40 days. General Manager for Landmark Harcourts, Craig Yarrow, spoke at the tour launch and said raising awareness of prostate cancer is paramount in ensuring men are not diagnosed too late, “One in five Queensland men are diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, so it’s very important to get screened annually to ensure any sign of cancer is found while it’s still treatable.” “More men die from prostate cancer than women die from breast cancer, yet prostate cancer only receives 10 per cent of the Federal Government funding that goes towards breast cancer. With more than 100,000 men living with prostate cancer in Australia, it’s something that we really need to get behind and ensure funds are raised. We’re proud to be able to sponsor and donate to this valuable cause via the Harcourts Foundation,” Funds raised throughout the ManUp! tour will go towards establishing a team of dedicated prostate cancer care nurses to provide the extensive support that is needed for those who are diagnosed. The team will stop in regional areas such as Dalby, Roma, Emerald, Mackay, Townsville, Rockhampton and Gympie, with Toowoomba being their first fundraising area of the trip. Also sponsoring the tour is the Bendigo Bank, Freemason group The United Grand Lodge of Queensland, and Cricks car dealership at Mount Gravatt. Landmark Harcourts is a joint venture between two Australian powerhouse real estate companies, joining forces in rural and regional Australia to provide a network of professional real estate services and expertise.
