LoanMart Racing Battles through Rocky Weekend in Reno, Nevada

Encino, Calif. -- Reno, Nevada is known for being a gamblers town: A town where many travel to test lady luck. Unfortunately, for Team LoanMart, lady luck was not in any mood to be tested. What started as a promising weekend on the short course off-road track turned out to be a challenging weekend for all four classes of racing at Wild West Motorsports Park.

The weekend kicked off with the Pro 2 class, which featured two entries from LoanMart, California’s largest auto title loan lender. Patrick Clark, who hails from Las Vegas, Nev., qualified fifth with teammate RJ Anderson of Riverside, Calif. who was slotted to start in ninth. The race would end up being a rough one for Clark who finished in 13^th place and only finished 12 of the 16 laps scheduled due to a spin-out early in the race. For Anderson, the race was a bit better as he battled through the traffic and finished a respectable fifth place behind the big names of the sport: Deegan, MacCachren, Menzies, and Hart.

Wild West Motorsports Park is a beautiful track built in the mountains with fast straightaways and big elevation changes. The Pro 4 class really pushes the track and shows how the 900 horsepower trucks thrive on the fast off-road course. LoanMart Racing’s lone entry was veteran star, Todd Leduc. He qualified in seventh place and finished in the same position.  The race was spread out and the only real position changes came in the hands of the leaders, Rob MacCachren and Doug Fortin.

The Pro Buggy races, which always seem to provide entertainment, didn’t disappoint.  Team LoanMart’s own Dave Mason, Jr. started Round 11 on the pole, looking to improve his third-place position in the points standing. The race itself proved to be tougher than previous races this season as Mason had to counteract a spin out and lots of traffic during the restarts. Mason finished in tenth place, which did not help him in the point’s column, as he had hoped.

The busiest class all season has been the Pro Lite class. With races averaging 18 trucks, the off-road courses look like a southern California highway rather than a track. LoanMart’s RJ Anderson was looking to repeat his win earlier in the season at Wild West Motorsports Park. He started up front alongside teammate Ryan Beat, who completed only two laps before retiring due to engine issues. Riverside native Anderson did not fair much better, losing key points and finishing ineleventh place. Both Anderson and Beat are looking to make a final push in the drivers’ championship standings as they are in third place and sixth place, respectively.

With Round 11 in the books Friday night, Team LoanMart looked for a much better day to cap off the weekend of racing. This time around, The Pro 2 class was seemingly the same race as Friday night with teammates RJ Anderson and Patrick Clark swapping positions. Clark started mid-pack and finished in the top five, proving once again he can compete and challenge the long-time veterans of the sport who have been racing longer than he has been alive. Anderson finished in eighth place.

The Pro 4 race on Saturday resulted in a fourth-place finish for Team LoanMart Racing Fan favorite, Todd LeDuc, who battled past stars like Carl Renezeder and his brother, Kyle LeDuc, and finished fourth.  LeDuc still stands in seventh position in the points standing with just four races left in the season.

As the season comes to the final stretch, Team LoanMart’s Pro Buggy entry lead, driven by Dave Mason Jr., looks to try to improve his current third-place spot. Round 12 on Saturday would prove not to be his night. Mason finished in seventh place just behind Steven Greinke who holds the second-place spot.

The weekend ended with the Pro Lite class as Team LoanMart tried to piece together a win. Long-time veteran driver, Brian Deegan, would not let LoanMart catch a break: He took his second straight victory in the class and broadened the gap between himself and LoanMart’s RJ Anderson. Ryan Beat, on the other hand, slipped into eighth place in the drivers standing.

Although he had a tough weekend, Anderson is focused on the future.  He is headed to the granddaddy track of them all, Crandon International Raceway, to compete in the Pro 2 World Championship.
