By: Eagle Eye Partners Eagle Eye continues to deliver on its focused effort to reduce their carbon footprint by reducing waste re-using some materials that would normally go to a landfill. Vinyl remnants that would have been thrown away now provide reinforcement on many banners made in their facility. Additionally, Eagle Eye now recycles all paper products. Waste has been reduced by 65% so far this year. But that’s just the start. Eagle Eye is aiming at the next goal: reducing waste by 80% by the end of 2014. "As a printing company, ink is used every day," offers Craig Davidson, president of Eagle Eye Partners. "And while many think of ink as harmless, ink can be hazardous. The fumes can cause headaches and damage to the nervous system. The ink itself, can cause skin rashes. Many chemicals used in inks can be dangerous to the environment, the ozone layer and ground water." Recognizing the effects of solvent inks, Eagle Eye has cut the use of solvents by half, replacing their use with ecologically friendly ink. Eco-solvent inks do not produce the fumes, and are safer all around. Not only are fewer solvents being used, but the work environment for employees is better. Employees are breathing cleaner air! Bottom line: Eagle Eye Partners continues its leadership role in the waste graphics industry. End
