Novel release: the old South, a gay couple, and their family secrets

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - Aug. 26, 2014 - PRLog -- Author Chris Amisano has released his second novel, Finding Mississippi. The novel’s main characters, Paul Whitmire and his grandmother, Dorothy realize that their estrangement over the years was a direct result of their now dead grandfather and husband.

Upon hearing the news of his grandfather’s death, Paul expects to have a quiet return to Bennett, Mississippi, where he was born and raised. He returns along with his partner Silvio to discover that his grandfather was not everything he seemed – and that the family’s secrets are far more serious than a gay grandson.

Faced with decisions about their future and the family, Paul and Silvio find themselves maneuvering a delicate web of cover-ups, a family business, and old-South prejudices, not to mention the world of difference between their life in Miami Beach and the prospect of life in Bennett.

Author Chris Amisano grew up in the South and credits his Southern friends and families with the inspiration for his characters. Amisano’s first novel, An Imperfect Arrangement, was published in 2007. He currently resides in Miami Beach, FL.
