Free Lecture to Provide the Latest Information on Prostate Cancer

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. - Aug. 26, 2014 - PRLog -- 21^st Century Oncology of Michigan will be hosting a free seminar about prostate cancer on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. “State-Of-The-Art Update In Prostate Cancer" will focus on the latest advances in prostate cancer detection and care. The lecture will be at the Bloomfield Open Hunt Club 405 E. Long Lake Rd., Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304. The event is free and open to the public.

Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in American men. While the disease affects nearly 233,000 men each year, early detection and prompt treatment can help increase chances of beating the disease.

“Raising awareness about this disease and education about the screening methods and treatments available is very important for our community,” says Jeffrey Forman, M.D., Board Certified Radiation Oncologist with 21^st Century Oncology of Michigan. “Hosting this lecture is a great way to keep men in our community informed about their options.”

Dr. Forman is the National Medical Director for Prostate Cancer and National Director of Clinical Research for 21^st Century Oncology. He earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. He went on to complete his residency and fellowship training at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, ranked as the best overall hospital by U.S. News and World Report for 21 consecutive years.
