MORE Opera presents Metropolitan Opera Baritone Richard Hobson in a masterclass on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 2 PM at 353 Studios, 353 West 48th Street, NYC 10036. Hobson will work with members of the MORE Opera Chorus in preparation for October 12th and 15th concert performances of Puccini's "Tosca," conducted by Maestro Anton Coppola. MORE Opera's innovative and successful training model partners a highly motivated, well trained community chorus with outstanding MET level professional soloists to create grand performances. The masterclass is free and open to the public. Come hear a master teacher at work as he discusses the elements of great singing and prepares both trained singers and novices to sing Italian opera. In addition to the choral preparation, several emerging artists will sing arias and will be critiqued by Hobson during the masterclass. Mark Cogley will accompany the singers at the piano.
MORE Opera's project Opera Unlimited: Bridging Communities through Opera’s Origins and Ethnicities is made possible in part with public funds from the Manhattan Community Arts Fund, supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and administered by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
