Dräxlmaier duplicates operations in Nicaragua

Dräxlmaier built a second industrial facility in Nicaragua with the objective of duplicating production capacity and labor force.

MANAGUA, Nicaragua - Aug. 25, 2014 - PRLog -- Dräxlmaier built a second industrial facility in Nicaragua with the objective of duplicating production capacity and labor force. To date, the global producer of automotive components has already invested around US$25 million and generated 1,400 jobs in the country.

“Dräxlmaier has now more space available and we are ready to continue increasing production activities”, stated Tom Dompert, Dräxlmaier’s Legal Representative in Nicaragua. “We are seeing Nicaragua as a strategic location and the plans are to continue expanding if we get additional contracts with our clients”, Dompert added.

Dräxlmaier expanded its operations to Nicaragua for the first time in 2009, with the installation of an auto-wire harness facility in the department of Masaya, Nicaragua. In 2011, the company successfully began producing auto-wire harnesses for BMW and Volkswagen and exporting them to the United States and Mexico.

In 2012, the Dräxlmaier plant in Nicaragua was recognized as the company’s highest yielding performance operation in the entire world, and set-up operations were mimicked in all of their new plants.

The Dräxlmaier Group is a globally operating family-owned company, with its headquarters in Vilsbiburg, Germany. Since its foundation in 1958, the company has developed and manufactured modern wiring harness systems, exclusive interiors and central electrical and electronic components, with a clear focus on the premium automotive segment in more than 50 sites in 20 countries around the world. The company’s client list includes BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, Volkswagen, Audi, Bugatti, Jaguar and Porsche.
