Stanganelli Calls for Debates Among State Rep Candidates

Massachusetts 1st Essex House Candidate Calls on Challengers to Focus on Issues

AMESBURY, Mass. - Aug. 25, 2014 - PRLog -- “Voters of Amesbury, Salisbury and Newburyport need to hear what all the candidates have to say and how they think about the issues that count in this election,” said the independent candidate for the upcoming November election set to choose Mike Costello’s replacement.

“This should be more than a beauty contest. We should have a conversation that deals with what matters most to area residents: taxes, education and economic development,” added Stanganelli, a resident of Amesbury where he operates an independent financial planning firm (http://www.ClearViewWealthAdvisors.com).  “I’m calling for the local Chambers of Commerce to step up and organize a forum series.  And I want every candidate to be part of the conversation.”

“I’m focusing on issues that will help raise the personal bottom lines of residents of the 1st Essex District as well as the broader benefit of all Massachusetts residents,” Stanganelli said.  He offered that his ideas to reform the state income tax to allow for the tax deductibility of property taxes paid, a higher deduction for rents paid, a tax credit for college savings and a higher commuter tax credit  will help offset the costs of owning a home, renting an apartment, increase college savings and lower higher expected fuel costs. He added that these are all common sense ideas that can find broad bi-partisan support in the community and the State House.

“There are certainly more issues out there and I’ve provided a full description of these issues ranging from smarter housing development to long term care assistance for seniors trying to age in place and paid for not simply by raising taxes but by promoting public-private partnerships and reforming our health care system to squeeze out waste,” offered the independent  candidate.

“People need to know what we will be focusing on when we get to the State House,” said Stanganelli.  “I’m not naïve.  I know that what we want to do won’t happen exactly.  Ultimately, we’re being hired not for what we’re proposing but how we’re thinking about issues and possible solutions.  And then how well we’ll work with others to get things done for our Commonwealth,” added Stanganelli.
