Lakewood College Students Benefit from Resume Building and Job Placement Assistance

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. - Aug. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- Lakewood College’s Career Services Department is a unique service offered to graduated students at no additional cost. Alumni have access to this service for life providing many recent college grads an opportunity to find work within their field quickly.

The Lakewood College Career Center’s Mission is to best equip their students with the tools needed to excel within their professional and personal lives. They provide concrete resources and motivation to ensure students will encompass the many valuable assets needed to improve their overall quality of life as they fulfill their desired career goals.

After a student graduates, they will first work with a representative in Career Preparation. Lakewood College boasts a diverse population of students at every point in their career. Appointments are tailored to their experience level, whether they are entry level or mid-career. Lakewood College will work with students to develop a resume and cover letter or offer suggestions to improve on what they already have. The Career Preparation representative will also cover a variety of interviewing tips including what to expect during the interview process,  how to prepare, how to dress, when to show up, and how to answer different kinds of questions. Many students will also undergo mock interviews to ensure they are best prepared for all interview situations.

In the final appointment with the Career Services Department, students work with a Placement Specialist to receive assistance finding an internship or career. Lakewood College has established a number of partnerships in the legal, medical and business fields to ensure graduates are given the best opportunities possible.  Partnerships include big names like Walgreens and CVS Pharmacies in addition to St. Petersburg General Hospital.
