When we spoke to Dr. Ahmad Javid during an interview, he said that ‘Sufi Light’ was an amalgamation of a lifetime of experiences and faith based belief system. About the author:

DR. Ahmad Javid is a fellow of the American Academy of Paediatrics. Born in Pakistan, author Ahmad Javid (Sarwari Qaderi) is a twelfth generation Sufi with ancestral lineage going back to Syed Muhammad al Hussaini Gisudiraz the saint of Decan, a descendant of Iman Hussain, the son of Ali Ibne Abi Talib, and eventually, to the fountainhead of all spirituality, the prophet Muhammad. A Fellow of the American Academy of Paediatrics, he received his medical degree from Khyber Medical College, Peshawar, Pakistan. Javid is a diplomat in paediatrics from Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow and University College, Dublin. He spent seventeen years in Iran extensively studying Sufi literature and poetry before coming to the United States in 1993 to finish his residency training in paediatrics from Columbia University. Javid has also been invested with khirqa (cloak) in the Sarwari Qaderi order of Sufis. He is also the author of ‘The Spirit of Sultan.’
