Wizard World Chicago Comic Con Goers Invited to Learn “How to Be a Nerd for a Living”

Career-focused panel presented by Nerd for a Living on Friday, August 22 to share insights from industry professionals on how they got into comics, animation, and more.

BELLEVILLE, Ill. - Aug. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- At the week’s star-studded Wizard World Chicago Comic Con, St. Louis-based company, Nerd For A Living, will present an exciting panel focused on introducing attendees to careers within “nerd-related” industries.

The panel titled “How to Be a Nerd for a Living” will be happening Friday, August 22, from 1:30 -2:15pm, at Wizard World Chicago Comic Con, which will be taking over the Rosemont Convention Center throughout the weekend.

Participating in this nerdy career-focused panel will be an exciting and talented group of professional “Nerds for a Living.” They will explore different types of jobs that exist within pop-culture entertainment, share insights on how they got where they are, and offer advice to those looking to break into the industry.

The stellar group of panelists includes:

Jon Schnepp, Producer and Director: Jon’s credits include “Metalocalypse”, “The Venture Bros”, and his newest project, feature film documentary "The Death of Superman Lives; What Happened?" Josh Blaylock, CEO - Devil’s Due Entertainment: Josh, a comic book writer and artist based in Chicago, IL with nearly 100 books published to date, is the leading force behind Devil’s Due Entertainment. Devil’s Due is the publisher of several creator-owned comic book titles including Plume, Squarriors, Tales of Mr. Rhee, Solitary, and Blaylock's own Mercy Sparx.

Kurt Lehner, Animation Artist/Illustrator/Designer: Kurt, Canadian Illustrator & Animation Artist, has worked on a wide variety of projects for such companies as Walt Disney, Warner Bros., Marvel, Dreamworks, and more. Some of his acclaimed animated projects include Gargoyles, The Rescue Heroes, All Dogs Go To Heaven 2, Space Jam, W.I.L.D. Cats, Cadillac’s and Dinosaurs, Beauty and the Beast - The Enchanted Christmas, The Marvel Action Hour and more.

Jenny Frison, comic book cover artist: Jenny, who is part of the Chicago-based Four Star Studios, is cover artist in high demand. Her work can be seen on Image’s “Revival” series, as well as Spike; Angel; Hack/Slash, Red Sonja, Vampirella, and Ghost.

This panel will be moderated by Adron Buske, Creative Director for Nerd for a Living and writer of Amby Verse and the Ascenders and Vital Signs.
