LAKE CHARLES, La. - Aug. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Lake Charles attorney Christian Chesson today filed official paperwork to run for District Attorney in the 14th Judicial District.

Chesson, 44, is challenging incumbent D.A. John DeRosier on the Nov. 4 ballot.

“Over the next 11 weeks I will reach out to the voters throughout Calcasieu Parish, sharing my vision for change in our justice system and a brighter, fairer future for all our citizens,” Chesson said.

To avoid any appearance of political favoritism, Chesson is self-funding his campaign and is accepting no donations.

Chesson has practiced in Lake Charles for 19 years.  His firm handles a diversity of cases helping citizens in the greater Calcasieu Parish area.  He is married to Kattie Chesson, and is the father of four children.

Chesson graduated from Parkview Baptist School in Sulphur, earned a degree in Government from McNeese State University in 1992, and completed his law degree at the Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge in 1995.  A Democrat, he has never sought elected office before.
