Comprehensive Child Development, Inc. (CCD) is celebrating its 30th Anniversary. Since 1984, CCD has provided high quality early childhood education for thousands of disadvantaged children and families in Long Beach, San Pedro, and Wilmington. To mark this milestone, a reception will be held on the 14th Floor at Keesal, Young & Logan’s firm on October 11th, 2014 from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm.

This reception will include special honors given to Congressman Alan Lowenthal and Congresswoman Janice Hahn and a very special “Lifetime Achievement Award” to Tammie Kyle, CCD’s Executive Director, celebrating 30 years of serving the children and families of CCD and over 50 years in the child development field.

Today we operate five childcare centers, support approximately 20 licensed Family Child Care Homes, and oversee 690 nutrition programs at licensed Family Child Care Homes throughout the Greater Los Angeles and Orange County communities. We serve over 7,700 children daily and are one of the largest nonprofits serving the Los Angeles Harbor Communities. The families we serve in our centers are homeless, unemployed, low-income/working poor, or vocational students in desperate need of our support. It is our vision that all families we serve become equipped to lead successful lives and achieve economic security.

We hope you are able to Save the Date and join us in celebrating the achievements of Comprehensive Child Development and assist us in continuing our legacy to serve children and families most in-need of our services.

“My son and I were homeless, but found housing at the Villages at Cabrillo. Thanks to CCD’s Cabrillo Center, Anthony received care and education five days a week – plus a healthy breakfast, lunch, and snack each day. I knew he was safe and cared for, which allowed me to find work and eventually leave the Villages for our own apartment.” – Katrina

“I was able to take classes through ROP and Goodwill while my son went to preschool at CCD. I now work part-time, and we recently moved from a homeless shelter into our very own apartment.” – Diana
