“In the nearly 40 years our firm has been involved in Newark, we have never seen Military Park serve as the setting for an event of that magnitude,” noted Miles Berger, president and chief executive officer of The Berger Organization (http://www.bergerorg.com/)
The inaugural ball took place just two weeks after Mayor Baraka’s election, requiring fast planning on part of the hotel’s banquet and catering team. “Orchestrating an event of this size – in two locations – in such a tight timeframe was a challenge but one that we were happy and able to meet,” noted Leon Drogy, banquet manager for the Robert Treat Hotel. “It proved to be an outstanding showcase of our talented staff and the hotel’s beautiful accommodations.”
The Robert Treat Hotel boasts more than 22,000 square feet of ballroom and function space. The Tri-State Ballroom, the largest in Northern New Jersey, accommodates up to 1,500 guests and is divisible for smaller gatherings. The hotel’s sophisticated Crystal Room seats up to 175 people, featuring a dance floor and crystal chandeliers. Additionally, a variety of conference spaces accommodate meetings ranging from 30 to 100 participants.
