DURHAM, N.C. - Aug. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Michele Myers, President of M Squared Builders & Designers, is proud to announce the company was recently awarded with a Remodeler’s Outstanding Construction (ROC) Award for "Major Renovation: Energy Efficient" by the Durham, Orange, and Chatham County Home Builders Association. These awards are designed to showcase outstanding remodeling contractors and the projects they’ve been working on, highlighting their presence in the industry and giving homeowners an idea of who (and what) to look for in their home renovation project.

The award-winning renovation modernized an extremely traditional 1960’s home, greatly improving the energy efficiency, aesthetics, and comfort for its owners. Budget constraints challenged M Squared to carefully implement the appearance the owners desired, while bringing the original plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems up to code. The remodel encompassed several rooms and areas of the home including the living room, dining area, basement, stairwell, master bathroom and closet, plug-in for an electric vehicle, and sealing of the crawlspace.

Judge's comments included “Very nice remake of original design... Particular attention paid to air quality and energy efficiency...  " and “Made good comfort and energy efficiency upgrades given the constraints of the budget.”
