Parents with young children face ‘holiday prejudice’

“A recent survey by Latedeals.co.uk showed 70% of travellers want child-free zones on aircraft, and a third of people would pay extra to go on a child-free flight.

“That shows that British travellers are pretty intolerant when it comes to babies and toddlers on flights, while many so-called luxury hotels simply don’t cater to the needs of young families and are increasingly pandering to empty nesters.

“Not only is this an indication of prejudice, but also a huge missed opportunity in terms of increasing profitability by extending business outside of peak school holiday dates.

“Without exception, the hotels, villas and cottages listed on our website have seen a significant upturn in business by offering supplies and services to make young families more comfortable – so maybe the airlines could learn something from that rather than making them feel they are an inconvenience.”
