GRENDON, U.K. - Aug. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- As the economy picks up many businesses are finding that existing buildings provide inadequate space. This was the situation faced by Resin Handling Services (RHS), who found they had severe storage problems as they booked a 70 percent increase in orders. Smart Space, the temporary buildings experts, came to the rescue, completing the design engineering and installation of additional temporary building storage within two months of order.

RHS director Danny Heald explained, “The actual build time on site was just four days, an incredible pace of working. We initially searched the Internet for a temporary building supplier. While we were drawn by competitive pricing, once the project started we were impressed by the readiness of the Smart Space staff to put in extra time to finish the building as fast as possible for us.”

Providing a storage capacity of over 3600 cubic metres within an 825 metre footprint, the light weight building needed minimal ground work and was easily installed directly onto an existing car park and will provide service for many years if necessary. When decommissioned, the modular components are refurbished by Smart Space and are totally re-usable. Once removed, the temporary buildings leave no significant footprint.

Modular in construction, with aluminium frames and insulated wall panels, the Smart Space buildings are suited for many uses within manufacturing, logistics, leisure and other applications. Roofs are of double thickness PVC coated fabric giving a degree of natural lighting. The variable air gap, adjusted by pressure sensors according to prevailing conditions, provides winter and summer thermal protection.

Storage of powdered resins in bulk is the core of the RHS business, but the company handle and process all kinds of bulk powders. Offering a comprehensive storage re-packaging and distribution services, the company sees 25 bulk tanker movements per day and has 22 bulk silos at its 10 acre site.

“High specification temporary buildings for up to three years use are our speciality, but we also offer light weight and rapidly installed interim buildings, and low cost fully insulated permanent buildings that comply with the latest Building Regulation and have a 35 year design life,” added Smart Space managing director Antony Hunt.
