CHANDIGARH, India - Aug. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- The league, which came to existence on 8^th August, in the presence of Mr. Monty Chadha- the Vice Chairman, Wave Group, is preparing the grounds for the game that has its wings stretched wide globally.

For a while, Kabaddi has been pushed into the backburner. Hence, to revive the game the Wave Kabaddi initiative has been spurred. The League took off in London with Mr. Monty Chadha at the helm of affairs along with other dignitaries, particularly the cast of the renowned Entertainment Group.

The League has erected a foundation which aims to encourage Kabaddi as India’s mainstream sport. It nurtures the potential to garner recognition and respect for the sport from the players and the audience alike. And with eight franchises already joining in to keep the sport kicking, the future of the league seems promising.

Another feather in the Wave Kabaddi’s cap is rooted in its international interests. The schedule, which runs from August 9, 2014 to December 2014, has international venues under its ambit, Birmingham, Dubai, New York and Los Angeles being a few.

The event, being sole of its kind, is setting the stage for a spectacular show. The first season will see over 86 matches being played among a curious mix of national as well as international players. Coming together of the players of different nationalities is step forward in sharpening the cultural integrity. The matches will be played out exclusively on the weekends.

The event is momentous, and so are the preparations. The stringent security measures are just an example; the format is right in parallel to Formula 1, the highest class auto racing sanctioned by the FIA. Players and officials will be kept under strict watch to maintain the dignity and credibility of the league.
