Follow on Google News | Advanced Technology as Change Agent to Make India an Economic SuperpowerBy: Commstrat ITC -2014 has an attractive and realistic theme “Advanced Technology as Change Agent to make India an Economic Super power”. Present technology congress is a sequel to ITC-2013. The highlights of ITC-2014 includes (a) workshop on R&D opportunities, (b) Clean Technologies ,(c) product exhibitions and Demos (d) Parallel technical tracks with over 160 invited keynote and technical presentations over 1000 technologists from industries and R & D laboratories , academia in and abroad have participated in the event. Director of Technical Education has issued a circular to all engineering colleges and polytechnics to participate in this unique event and harness funding from different R & D organizations participated and showcased their schemes. The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri HD Deve Gowda, former Prime Minister of India. Honorable Minster of Transport, GOK, Dr. Shailesh Nayak, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, GOI from New Delhi delivered a keynote address on the occasion. Different publications like “Sensor Networks for Air Pollution“, Design Fundamentals for Manufacturing ( DFM) , MAV Directory , Compendium of MAV etc., were released by Dr. H. Maheshappa, Vice Chancellor, VTU and Shri H.U. Talwar, Director of Technical Education, GOK. In this historic Congress, MOUs were signed between NDRF and MSRUAS (M S Ramaiah University of Advanced Studies) and BIGTECH Labs in the presence of Prof.R.M Vasagam, Dr.(Ing) B.V.A. Rao of NDRF. Shri Ashok Kumar Basa, President of Institution of Engineers (India) delivered the Presidential Address. Chairman, Dr.LV Muralikrishna Reddy said, “ITC-2014 will brighten the prospects of India to become the most sought after destination for investment, preferred source for services and manufactured goods for the whole world”. Typical Technical Tracks highlighted in ITC-2014 are: (1) Technology Trends and Innovations, (2) World Federation of Engineering Organizations’ B. Industry and Innovations (1) Innovation towards excellence in Energy Education, (2) Collaborative Research – Engine for Economic Growth C. Concurrently two workshops on (a) Intelligent Autonomous Unmanned Systems (IAUS) ; (b) Delivering high performance collaborative Research and Funding Opportunities D.
