Born in Spain, Tirado began doing performance work at the young age of twelve. He was inspired by the great directors of film, including Steven Spielberg, Francis Ford Coppola, Stanley Kubrick, and Martin Scorsese. He studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, as well as at the Acting Studio at Edgemar with acting coach Michelle Danner.
Tirado has worked several times with director Steven Huffaker, the director met him when Tirado auditioned for the 2013 comedy short-film XR91 BioRebellion 2.0 with James Franco. Although Huffaker thought that Tirado was not right for the role he auditioned for, he saw something special in him and made a new role specifically to display his talents. The film later went on to be selected and introduced by Ben Affleck at last year’s UCLA Film Festival at the DGA. The film was also selected out of more than four hundred submissions to be included in the LA Comedy Shorts Film Festival. Tirado has recently worked with Huffaker again on the new TV Pilot called ‘’Christian Friendship Players’’ playing opposite John Ennis and Charlie Sanders. In this hilarious new project, Tirado plays the role of Dr. Michael Pall, an emotional and professional person who rules a Christian school.
Tirado has also worked on the comedy web series Not By Choice directed by Brandon Woolen, where he plays the role of a goofy cable guy whose company has shut down, so he deals with eccentric new clients to continue working and get on with his life.
Not content to simply work on comedies, Tirado also appeared in last year’s horror flick Slink. The highly original, critically-acclaimed film, tells the dark story of a tanning salon where many young, innocent girls have disappeared. Much of the film deals with unraveling the mystery of what happens to these girls.
Recently Tirado spoke with Global Dispatch in a radio interview to his recent projects, as well as what he feels is the most underrated Spielberg film. You can listen to the interview at https://www.youtube.com/
With his incredible passion for acting and strong work ethic, there’s no limit to what we could see from Paul Tirado in the future.
