TIMBUK FITNESS HOSTS the “Coming to America” tour featuring ANDREA KELLY

LOS ANGELES - Aug. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- (WASHINGTON D.C) August 11TH, 2014—Timbuk Fitness™ is creating a new dimension to health and fitness with their “Coming to America” tour featuring “Hollywood Exes Star and dancer, Andrea Kelly. World renowned Choreographer and Timbuk creator Diadié Bathily (pronounced Jah-Jay BAH-chee- LEE) of St. Louis, Missouri is internationally known for his distinct style, technique and education of African dance. Bathily has danced professionally for over 30 years on stages in Africa, Europe and North America. Bathily is now positioning the St. Louis based Timbuk Fitness as not just an outlet to dance but a source of creative motivation for the improvement of healthy lifestyles across the country.

This tour will teach people how to express themselves through dancing to the beat of a live drum. It will bring people together through expression, culture and celebration. The “Coming to America” tour will be a connection of spirit, language, communication and fitness in a way that has never been done before,” said Bathily.

This past year Timbuk debuted in Dallas, Washington DC, St. Louis, and Chicago. Its popularity and growth has been explosive with instructors teaching in fifteen different states. The Timbuk certification curriculum received approval as a continuing education provider through the Cooper Institute last year, and their certification is now available online.

With the alarming rise of obesity in America, Timbuk Fitness believes this tour is a great outlet to combat the disease that is causing many healthy related issues and deaths. Like Michelle Obama’s “Let’s move” health initiative, The “Coming to America” tour aims to help people get active, be responsible for their body and re-start the journey to a long healthy life.

Andrea Kelly, star on VH1’s hit reality series ‘Hollywood Exes,” is the official spokeswoman for Timbuk Fitness™. Andrea gained popularity as a dancer, choreographer and creative director for performances on world tours, music videos, and award shows with ex-husband performer R. Kelly. “This incredible fitness program is good for the body and the soul, said Andrea, and I am beyond excited to represent a revolutionary new fitness movement that brings African Dance and culture to fitness centers and homes nationwide,” Kelly added.

Timbuk Fitness™, Andrea Kelly, and Black Women Do Workout® will host their “Timbuk is Coming to America African Dance Tour” nationally to showcase this revolutionary new health and fitness program. As the first of its kind, this unprecedented health and fitness movement will include the following cities and dates: (August 23 – 24 in Los Angeles at Blackbird Dance Co, October 3 - in Baltimore, MD, October 4 - in Philadelphia - Mascher Dance Inc, November 15 - Atlanta, Georgia November 22 - Tampa, Florida.
