Rare Chinese Silver - A Must See To Appreciate -

NEW YORK - Aug. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Chinese export sterling silver tea set, ca. 1920. This set comprises 1 coffeepot with hinged cover, 1 teapot with hinged cover, 1 creamer, and 1 sugar with cover.

Each: squat and curved bowl encircled with slithering dragon on honeycomb ground. Circular cartouche (vacant). Plain foot ring. All handles scrolled bamboo. All covers have central leaf with bamboo finial. The coffeepot and teapot have plain s-scroll bamboo spout. The creamer has plain large v-spout. Hallmarked “sterling” and Chinese characters.

With: Chinese Export silver kettle on stand. Kettle: squat and curved with s-scroll bamboo spout, swing bracket bamboo handle, and hinged cover with bamboo finial. Allover honeycomb hammering. Dramatic slithering dragon on body and cover. Rests on 3 bamboo supports. Bamboo stand is x-form with stretchers. Hallmarks with Chinese characters and letters “KC.”
