Creative Director Adds Media Psychology Credential to Curriculum Vitae

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Aug. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- Freelance Writer and Creative Director, Marilyn Bieber is proud to announce the award of Summa Cum Laude in conjunction with a Master of Arts Degree conferred in Media and Communications Psychology.

Media Psychology is an emerging field in communications recognized as Division 46 by the American Psychological Association.  There are currently only a handful of postgraduate programs in the United States offering it.  Touro University Worldwide, in Los Alamitos, California is the online program Ms. Bieber selected to pursue her Master of Arts degree.

“People ask what it is when I tell them I earned my Masters in Media and Communications Psychology,” said Marilyn Bieber, Creative Director.  “As a discipline, it is still finding its legs.  Most communication is mediated by technology. Mediated is not about SEO, or key words or social media -- it is connecting people and ideas.  Communicating effectively is more complex not only because of technology, but because of the sheer amount of  data we contend with.”

Tour University Worldwide first offered the MCP program in 2009, celebrating their first graduating class in 2011.  Bieber is among one of first in the country to earn a graduate degree in Media Psychology.

“I can remember my days at a media research firm early in my professional career.  We started out with an IBM Selectric and fax machine. Before I left to accept a corporate programming position with Paxson Communications, we had a Microsoft Windows automated phone room.”
