Marina Star, Singer/Songwriter (Interview by Michael Minor)

MM: Tell us something about yourself for instance who is Marina Star and what does she enjoy outside of music?

MS: I am a singer songwriter from NY and I make music in a mixed genre of Electronic Dance music and Pop. I write music and lyrics for all of my songs, except for a few collaborations where I wrote vocal part melodies and lyrics on the instrumental tracks created by the producers I worked with. Outside of music I love spending time in nature. A lot! (Smiling). I love reading spiritual, new age literature and fantasy, I love dancing, biking, I LOVE animals and spending time with them. I have 4 cats. I love Broadway shows and ballroom dancing too, I actually took Rumba classes and it was amazing, I really want to get very good at it.

MM: When did you feel it was your time to take up a music career?

MS: I always loved to sing and perform and started taking vocal classes when I was 12 years old, but I also loved acting so I was hesitating between these two paths for a while and actually, I enrolled in an acting college first. Then I realized that music means much more to me and I transferred to a music college, both were in Moscow, Russia.
