South Shore Chamber of Commerce unveils all new TechConnect

ROCKLAND, Mass. - Aug. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- The South Shore Chamber of Commerce (www.southshorechamber.org) is going high tech, launching TechConnect, the first-of-it-kind Technology exposition and educational event on the South Shore, the state’s fastest growing economy.

TechConnect, as the name suggests, is all about technology: the latest trends, how businesses can stay relevant and competitive in today’s market, how they use technology to deliver product and service to customers (and make it easier for them to do business). “But it is not a show for Techies,” said Laurel Egan Kenny, COO. “It is actually a show for those who would like to learn about the different ways Chamber members are “connecting” with their clients, vendors, and key constituents using technology and the many ways technology can power a business’s growth and success.”

Mark your calendars: TechConnect will take place October 9, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lantana, in Randolph.

Egan Kenny says that this new concept is the result of months of planning.  “We are constantly looking at ways to bring even greater relevance to our members and the businesses they work with on a daily basis,” she said, noting that TechConnect, a first for the South Shore, will have a different mission than previous business expos. “It’s part of an even bigger overall effort for the Chamber to re-brand itself. It is another way we empower our members to be ‘Part of Something Bigger.’”

TechConnect will bring together local businesses and industry experts to teach, learn, and share how technology can advance business.

For attendees, there is no cost to attend the expo, which is being promoted as the place to network, collect ideas and exchange information. There will be morning and mid-day speed learning sessions; and businesses will have four ways tojoin the expo: (1) exhibit; (2) advertise; (3) sponsor; and (4) present.

“If technology powers your business (or you’d like it to), TechConnect  Business Expo is for you,” said Peter Forman, CEO of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, who said that the program has been designed to allow participants to meet the businesses that need your technology solutions.

Businesses currently utilizing technology to stay relevant, create a competitive edge, showcase their innovations and more should plan to exhibit at this first-of-its-kind expo. So too should technology product providers, service providers and consultants who advise firms on how to use technology to grow a business.

“Our research continues to show that businesses are looking to become more technologically savvy,” said Forman, who said, “There will be a lot of information presented in one place. We have a jam-packed day ready for everyone who walks through the door.”

In addition to exhibitors, TechConnect is seeking qualified presenters: individuals to share subject matter expertise, best practices and share resources with engaged audiences of 10-30 participants and invitees and interested individuals each to submit a proposal at: southshorechamber.org/pages/techconnect2014.
