“Everyone knows Miami is a magnet for foreign nationals and companies, so Doug Kramer’s litigation experience and knowledge of the court system will be of great help to them,” said Bowman Brown, Chairman of Shutts & Bowen’s Executive Committee.
“Doug brings his extensive litigation background and experience to our thriving Miami office,” said Steven Ebner, the Managing Partner of the Miami office.
Mr. Kramer has represented a broad array of commercial clients, including property and business owners and managers, in business, contract, and lease disputes. As a trial lawyer, he has handled all phases of litigation, from discovery through trial and appeals. He has long been rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating available from the legal information service.
“Doug’s a great litigator, and we’re delighted that he will use those formidable skills to represent foreign nationals in United States courts,” said Harold “Ed” Patricoff, Chair of the International Dispute Resolution Group.
“I have known the people at Shutts & Bowen for years, and it is a privilege to be a part of a collegial law firm with among the deepest pool of resources and institutional knowledge in the state,” Mr. Kramer said.
Early in his career, Mr. Kramer was a law clerk for the late Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Arthur England and an instructor at the University of Miami School of Law. He graduated in the top 5 percent of his class and was a member of the Law Review at the University of Miami School of Law. Mr. Kramer received his B.A. from Emory University. Born in Pittsburgh and raised in Miami, he currently lives in Coral Gables.
