NEW YORK - Aug. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- At an early settlement conference held before The Honorable Joan M. Azrack on August 19, 2014, David's false arrest lawsuit was resolved at an early juncture. David had filed his Complaint in federal court on May 5, 2014 and the filing is 14-CV-2818.

Within his wrongful arrest Complaint, David had asserted causes of action to include unreasonable search and seizure, false arrest, failure to intervene and a claim against the City of New York. David alleged that he was leaving his Aunt's apartment in Brownsville Brooklyn when he was victimized by two NYPD Officers in a controversial stop frisk. The officers asked him where he was coming from and where he was going, and David told them. The officers then demanded his ID and David gave them his New York state driver's license. The officers also asked him, "If he had anything illegal on him," to which David responded that he did not. David was subsequently arrested and charged with multiple counts of trespass when he was simply visiting a family member.

As a result of his arrest, David spent the Easter weekend detained against his will and was also concerned about losing his internship with the MTA. After one criminal court appearance post arraignment, the case was dismissed and David filed his lawsuit.
