Roger Huarng to Present at TOPCON 2014

ROMULUS, Mich. - Aug. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Roger Huarng, Principal at APS Compounding and APS Elastomers will present his paper, Conceptual Review of Zythane® TPU Technology at TOPCON 2014 in Akron, Ohio on Thursday, September 18, in which he will discuss the conceptual origin of ZYTHANE^® technology; explaining its thermal and rheological characteristics as well as tools for developing TPUs with optimized thermal and processing window.

Mr. Huarng’s study examines the thermal and rheological behaviors of Zythane® and competitors’ TPUs. Tool kits developed from this study have been successfully applied to a new series of TPUs via a reactive compounding approach.  Zythane® produced by APS Compounding, possess more well-defined segmented two-phase morphology, molecular weight distribution and wider processing window than existing TPUs. Additional thermal and capillary Rheometer data have been collected to complete the construction of design database for formulating and designing the reaction twin-screw compounding screw configuration.

Roger Huarng received his MS in Polymer Engineering from the University of Akron. He served as Business Manager and Marketing & Project Manager at BASF Corporation before starting his own TPE distribution and compounding firms, APS Elastomers and APS Compounding located in Romulus, Michigan.
