Mike Brown Earns CFP® Certification

SAN DIEGO - Aug. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Dowling & Yahnke, LLC, a San Diego-based wealth advisory firm managing over $2.5 billion for more than 900 clients, is proud to announce that Mike Brown, Senior Portfolio Manager,is now a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®).

To earn this distinguished designation, a candidate must pass the comprehensive CFP® Certification Examination.  The examination includes case studies and client scenarios designed to test one's ability to correctly diagnose financial planning issues and apply one's knowledge of financial planning to real world circumstances.  Candidates also complete a minimum of three years of full-time financial planning-related experience and adhere to the CFP Board's Standards of Professional Conduct ethical and practice standards.

Prior to joining Dowling & Yahnke, Mike was a Partner at Deloitte, a global accounting, financial advisory, and consulting organization, where he spent fifteen years working with public companies and private equity investor clients.

Mike holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designations, is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Florida and Michigan, and has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.  He completed his undergraduate work at Oakland University (Michigan), where he majored in Accounting and graduated summa cum laude.

Mike was born and raised in Michigan and lived in Florida for a number of years.  He lives in Carmel Valley with his wife and two daughters.
