KOCHI, India - Aug. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Omar Farhad’s novel, ‘Honor and Polygamy’ narrates the story of Nicholas Blake, a diplomatic officer working with the United Nations in New York. When he is suddenly called to report for duty in Afghanistan, a series of incidents ensure that his life isn’t void of its share of drama and action. From being kidnapped by the Taliban, to executing a partially successful escape from their clutches and then seeking asylum in a village home where he is forced to marry a young girl to continue evading the Taliban, this novel has got it all. It beautifully captures the entire range of emotions our hero, Nick goes through during his travails in a foreign country.

Honor and Polygamy is more than a simple novel that tells the story of a man stuck between doing what he believes to be right and what everyone else says is. It is also a relevant and contemporary commentary on the ground situation in Afghanistan, especially now with the American and other coalition forces leaving the country after a decade of occupation. Honor and Polygamy boldly pursues several important strands of thought regarding Afghanistan’s population which now sees itself without a single core identity. The thought being that since a strong and legitimate central government is far from likely to emerge in Afghanistan any time soon, its neighbors can and should be encouraged to become more actively involved to bring better political stability in the region.

Omar Farhad provides a clear, balanced, and comprehensive assessment of the situation in Afghanistan. When we interviewed Omar Farhad about his latest book, he said that the idea behind this book was one that was always close to his heart and he felt now was the right time to share with the world what he had always wanted to say. He added that the huge cultural difference between Afghanistan and the west was a key enough reason to propel the narration of an American stuck over there. A spokesperson for iUniverse, the publisher said that they were happy and extremely pleased to be associated with such a book and wished Omar all the best for his book. Kevin Peter who reviewed the book for Moterwriter.com said that the book couldn’t have come out at a better time and that it will provide a solid education to every reader about what’s happening over at Afghanistan.
