Follow on Google News | Suze Lanier-Bramlett To Appear At The Heart Of Texas Comic ConLos Angeles based actor, singer, songwriter, Suze Lanier-Bramlett, will be returning home to Texas, September 12, 13, & 14 as a special guest at The Heart Of Texas Comic Con which will be held at The Extraco Events Center.
By: Suze Lanier Bramlett Suze was born and raised in Dallas, but spent a great deal of her childhood in the Killeen and Temple, TX area visiting family. "My father was born in Temple. I have very sweet memories of the area and am thrilled to be returning for the convention. The sci-fi and horror fans are the best, and I love meeting them in person," said Suze. This "Yellow Rose Of Texas" (Suze was officially commissioned this honor by former Texas governor, Preston Smith, in 1972), has several new films that are scheduled for release in 2014 and 2015. "I never set out to be a scream queen. I like all genres of film work, especially comedy, but horror is very popular these days and that seems to be the work coming my way" said the veteran actor. In the mid-70's, Suze performed stand up and comedy sketches with the best of them, including the late, great George Carlin and Laugh-In's, Pat Paulsen. In the early 80's, Suze segued her acting career to music after meeting her future husband, the legendary rock/blues musician, Delaney Bramlett, composer of classic songs like "Superstar" with Leon Russell, "Let It Rain" with Eric Clapton and "Never Ending Song Of Love". "After Delaney passed at the end on 2008, I was somewhat lost and decided to pick myself up and go do what I love most; acting and performing music." Suze's first project in 2009 was a role in Oren Peli's (Paranormal Activity creator) Area 51 which is still in post-production. In addition, one will see her in the upcoming films, CUT!; No Solicitors with Eric Roberts; and Betrothed with Bill Oberst, Jr. Suze, formerly known as Susan Lanier, released an award winning CD in 2012 titled, SWAMP CABARET, which is also the name of her band and one woman show that she performs regularly in LA, and in other cities. She wrote and directed her first YouTube horror-comedy music video, Watch What You Ask For, which also stars actor Michael Berryman, Suze's fellow actor from THE HILLS HAVE EYES, and scream queen, Brooke Lewis. "With such easy access to internet exposure, possibilities are endless for creating and sharing one's own work and art. We couldn't do that in 1972 when I was first starting out in the business, the same year I was appointed the 'Yellow Rose Of Texas' honor. Even though I have resided in LA since 1974, I will always be a "Yellow Rose of Texas" in my heart", Suze says beaming with pride. End
