No one has doubt that the India today we live is infinitely more prosperous, more creative, more resilient and more self assured than at any time since obtaining independence on 15th August 1947 when the country came out of the British rule, free to celebrate its diversity and differences, its many languages, faiths and cultures; free to be different and respected for it. The fundamental reason for this transformation is due to the citizens of India who do not hesitate to proclaim with passion "Proud to be an Indian".
Located in the heart of Shekhawati region of Rajasthan Pilani is well known for various educational institutions which include the deemed university BITS – Birla Institute of Technology and Science. Jamuna Mishra Academy – JMA established in the year 2004 which has been making rapid strides in early childhood education is presently one among the top ranking and most sought after schools at Pilani Rajasthan.On August 15, 2014, Mrs Booma Natarajan, Principal JMA welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest Dr Jamil Akhtar Chief Scientist Head of Sensors & Nano Technology Group Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute CEERI Pilani which is one among the top ranking CSIR Laboratories in India today. Sensors and Nano-Technology Group at CEERI, Pilani is involved in R&D for microelectronics and MEMS technologies of discrete devices and circuits employing 2-3" diameter semiconductor wafers.
Dr Jamil an alumnus of Jawaharlal Nehru University JNU Delhi earlier had been DAAD Fellow at T.U. Munich, Germany Goethe Institute, Freiburg, Germany apart from being Planner-B at B.E.L. Ghaziabad. Dr Jamil is also recipient of Bharat Jyoti Award in 2013 and Bharat Shiksha Ratan Award in 2014.
After hoisting the flag and the school band playing the National Anthem, Dr Jamil Akhtar inspected the parade and took the salute. Addressing the gathering, the chief guest urged the students of the school to become useful and responsible citizens by putting their education for the larger task of nation building. Dr Jamil Akhtar had words of praise for the Principal Mrs Booma Natarajan and teachers of JMA who as a team had worked hard to make the school one among the top ranking schools in Pilani.
The celebrations included Spectacular Display by JMA Pilani Band, NCC Troop March, Group Song (Patriotic), Yoga display, Boccee game between JMA students & Amla Birla Kendra Special Children who participate in Special Olympics. Mr U K Pandey Area Director for Special Olympics Bharat State of Rajasthan presently Principal of Amla Birla Kendra School for Special Children at Pilani also thanked Principal Mrs Booma Natarajan for extending whole hearted cooperation for training and motivating the special children to become dreamers performers and achievers like other children. Mr Mahendra Singh of JMA anchored the proceedings and proposed vote of thanks.
When the 68th Independence Day celebrations ended, the parents and children who had come for the function left with beaming faces and pride that they were indeed part of an institution which is a shining jewel in the crown among the schools at Pilani.
