FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Celebrating Success:
Ribbon-cutting for new Oconomowoc High School athletic fields at Rux Stadium planned for August 22

Oconomowoc, WI – August 15, 2014. Oconomowoc High School (OHS) will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, August 22 to celebrate the completion of the Athletic Fields Forever (AFF) project. All outdoor facilities for football, soccer, track, baseball, softball and tennis were upgraded and improved to create the premier high school athletic complex in southeastern Wisconsin. OHS is now the only high school in the state of Wisconsin with video scoreboards in both the soccer stadium and on the football field.

Superintendent Dr. Roger Rindo commented, "As we look forward to the ribbon-cutting, the Oconomowoc Sports Booster Club and its many volunteers can feel a great sense of accomplishment. Through their work, the Boosters and the AFF steering committee has helped make the dream of new facilities a reality for all our students, and for the community. We're looking forward to celebrating this success with parents, students, alumni and community members."

The public is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which will take place just prior to the first varsity home football game of the 2014-2015 season against Kettle Moraine High School.

- 6:45 p.m. Ribbon-cutting on the football field track
- 7:00 p.m. Kick-off
- Admission to the game is free with a non-perishable food donation to the Oconomowoc Food Pantry. The school district is partnering with Orbis Corporation of Oconomowoc to collect donations.

About Athletic Fields Forever
Athletic Fields Forever is a joint fundraising effort between the Oconomowoc Area School District and the Oconomowoc Sports Booster Club to expand and renovate all outdoor athletic facilities at Oconomowoc High School. Facilities for football, soccer, track, baseball, softball and tennis were upgraded and improved. Thanks to the generosity of donors, both the soccer field and the football field have state-of-the-art Daktronics video scoreboards. The total cost of the project was approximately $4 million and the OSBC helped raise approximately $1.5 million toward the project. Contributions are still encouraged for future maintenance and improvements to the facilities. For donation information, please contact Kate Winckler at OASD, wincklek@oasd.org.

The athletic fields and facilities will be owned and maintained by the Oconomowoc Area School District. The school district and the Oconomowoc Sports Booster Club would like to thank all the volunteers, supporters, parents and donors who have helped to bring this dream to life!
